I have been busy and not all that motivated to make new blog posts.
But just a short time ago I played a 30K game against my friend Seti and here is the report.
Deployment
We played the Onslaught mission. In this mission there is one objective in each deployment zone. It is worth 5 pts. Each unit killed in turn 1 is worth 1 point as is killing the Warlord. Also whoever kills the most units gets one additional point at the end of the battle. The game lasts 6 turns.
A unit of Iron Warrior vets outflanks on the right.
The Medusas armed with Phosphex rounds begin pounding the Night Lords.
A rhino is destroyed and the occupants are nearly completely slaughtered.
'We have arrived! Where is the enemy?'
'Ah, there they are!' The Night Lords also outflank.
The Night Lords hit the right flank of the Iron Warriors pretty hard.
The battle rages on between these two units for several turns.
The Iron Warriors tactical squad spreads out in an attempt to save the
Medusas from the deadly short range fire of the Night Lords.
The Medusas fire a Phosphex round at short range right before the
Iron Warriors' Contemptor charges into a Night Lords squad.
Whilst the Iron Warriors have lost many troops in this encounter and have
also lost the right flank, things are looking up in regards to the overall battle.
A large tactical squad led by Warsmith Martok charges into a Night Lords'
Sicaran Venator, blowing it sky high with Krak Grenades.
The Contemptor makes quick work of the marines and moves around behind the rhino.
The battle has shifted and the Iron Warriors have moved their front line
to be perpendicular to where it began.
The Night Lords manage to destroy the two Medusas but not before
the Iron Warriors capture the objective.
The end of the mission. The Iron Warriors have captured the objective
while denying the Night Lords of their prize.
The Iron Warriors win 5-0. It was a really fun game. It could have gone either way but in the end I had whittled the Night Lords down just enough that they weren't going to get the objective.
The next mission we intend to play is from Book 6. It is a mission where the Night Lords are in the middle of a negotiation with a local official and the Iron Warriors interrupt them with deadly force.
I am quite excited for this one and I intend to do a report for it once we complete it.
