And now the exciting conclusion of Guard vs Traitor Guard.
Ursarkar Creed calls in the reinforcements. Outflanking the Traitors on their left flank, a Hellhound arrives and flames a unit of veterans.
The traitor's commander with his squad try to move forward with their flamers at the ready.
The traitor's Leman Russ continues to move forward as some guardsmen attempt to outflank it.
The loyalists begin to push the traitor's right flank.
An overview shows the progress of the game thus far with guardsmen all over the place.
In the center the traitor's large blob squad moves up.
The remaining vets who got flamed by the hellhound move around the to side of it and blow it up in hand to hand by planting krak grenades and praying to the dark gods.
The blob squad continues their advance to try and get around the central building.
The traitor general and his flamer squad move up and wipe out a guard squad with massed flamer fire.
The Leman Russ continues its overwhelming fire supported by a guard squad with a Rogue Psyker.
The traitors continue their, which at this point has proved to be, overwhelming fire by again firing the basilisk and missile launchers at the loyalist guardsmen.
The loyalist flank attack begins to founder and the traitors continue their forward march.
The traitor's basilisk rotates and fires at a squad of loyalists, nearly wiping them out.
The traitor Leman Russ with guardsmen support continues moving up attempting to control the objective.
As the battle winds down the traitor general rounds the corner with his fist in the air shouting obscene chaos chants and claims the win.
At the end of this battle the traitor guard proved too much for the loyalists. The loyalists lost their home objective while the traitors kept their own, winning the game.
This is only the first battle report in a series of three, which will be up soon. The next game will be Iron Warriors against Guard.
Following that report will be Iron Warriors versus Marines Errant.
Until next time....

Battle Report - Guard VS Traitor Guard - Part 1
A number of weeks ago I visited my friend's new homeworld, the man behind the blog: Excursions Beyond the Call of Duty
We played three games over the course of a Sunday and this will be a battle report about the first game.
We played 2,000 points with his new Guard army against my Traitor Guard army. Below is our deployment.
For all three missions we played the games straight out of the book with the terrain placement rules and everything. This mission was the Dawn of War deployment with the mission being The Emperor's Will.
As you can see below I tried to hide my mortars and a sentinel behind a building. Across from me his army just seems to stretch forever, he has many many models in his army.
My center is where I placed my objective. I tried to really beef up my defense here and it turned into an offense as well as you will see.
On the opposite side of the table the Guardsmen go on for miles.
Looking across the battlefield the lascannon heavy weapon teams line up a Leman Russ in their sights.
A mortar team and an autocannon team line up in the opposite corner of the lascannons.
My Basilisk sets up shop behind a building hoping to block line of sight to it but not impact its own shooting.
The Fist is central to the Imperial's defense strategy.
Turn one my center moves up to the right with the Leman Russ leading the way. To the left more guardsmen more to the center of the board.
The missile launcher teams atop the blue building open up with frag missiles and take out a number of unfortunate guardsmen.
The Leman Russ rumbles forward and prepares to fire.
The basilisk in the top of the picture moves around the building and fires!
The loyalist guard move forward in their turn and take up defensive positions behind the large building in the center.
Several guard move into the central building while another squad moves around the side.
On the far flank the guardsmen begin moving up.
The Leman Russ opens up and kills a swathe of the enemy.
The basilisk opens up and takes out most of the autocannon team.
After a devastating shooting phase a large chunk of guardsmen lay on the ground as smoking corpses.
In part 2 the traitor guard begin pushing their advantage.
Until then....

Heldrake, Tournament, Chosen and Big Game
So its been a while and I think its about time for an update or two.
Recently I have been working on my converted Heldrake. I like the GW model but I don't like its style for any of my armies. Where I to start a new chaos army I could see the official model fitting in well but with what I am working on namely Iron Warriors and Dark Mechanicus, it just doesn't mesh with the style of my minis.
With this in mind I decided to convert the model fairly heavily. I bought one awhile ago and began the converting process. I have been telling my friends all about it but no one has really seen it yet.
So its still a Work In Progress but here are some pics:
Another thing I have been working on is putting together a tournament. It will be 1500 points no allies or forgeworld.
Here is the flier:
The cool thing is this tournament is free! And I have prize support.
Moving on, I also purchased the chosen and chaos lord from the Dark Vengeance box set from a friend of mine. I am not sure how I will paint them up but they will probably end up as Iron Warriors.
And finally several weekends ago my gaming group had our annual Big Game. It was a great success with a lot of people showing up and some new guys and gal. It was a great time and am looking forward to next year. Until then, here are some pics of the event:
I have some battle reports I'd like to post soon as well so stay tuned for that.

This combat between my sorceror and Draigo went on for hours and at the end of the big game they were still locked in combat! My sorceror had terminator armour, mark of Tzeentch, sigil of corruption, was level three and had invisibility. He was able to cast invisibility every turn making Draigo WS 1 and Draigo's Titan Sword is only AP 3 so we never got anywhere, it was pretty funny.
I have some battle reports I'd like to post soon as well so stay tuned for that.
Until then..
